4. Installing Hard Drives
You must install your hard drives into the chassis. Install them only after you have securely
installed the server in a rack or cabinet. The order in which you populate the hard drive slots is
significant. This chapter describes the drive insertion order and the procedure for inserting hard
drives.
Drive Insertion Order
Table 4-1 shows the drive insertion order for model ISS3006.
Table 4-2 shows the drive insertion order for model ISS3009.
The chassis for the ISS3006 and ISS3009 use a 1x3 backplane. Drive slots 3, 7, and 11 (where
applicable) are skipped.
