Replacing Expansion Cards

4. If no other card will be installed in the empty slot, a filler plate needs to be installed

in the expansion slot opening. Follow these instructions to install a filler plate in an
expansion slot opening:

•

Place the filler plate on the slot opening

•

Tighten the retaining screw shown in Figure 2-19.

The following instructions describe how to install expansion cards:

1.

Remove the side panel as described in “Pre-installation Instructions” on page 16, if
not already done.

2. If a filler plate covers the slot opening selected for installation, follow these

instructions to remove it:

•

Remove the retaining screw shown in Figure 2-19.

•

Remove the filler plate from the chassis.
