Warnings and precaution:
These devices can be used only in conjunction with our alarm system and in compliance with the instructions supplied in this manual.
Devices can be played indoor or outdoor properly sheltered from the elements and according to operating temperature limits. This device must be installed and
commissioned by qualified technical staff according to current regulations. Any other use is considered improper and forbidden! The manufacturer is not liable for
damages resulting from the improper use of the product other than those provided herein.
Operation:
each reader can operate simultaneously in two different modes (please see below) and requires different TAG keys based on the specific function to be
performed.
Operation as an arming device:
it enables a Sil-Bus alarm system to be totally (ON) or partially armed (ON/P) and disarmed (OFF) using an electromagnetic TAG
encoded with more than one million different combinations. Operation is automatically performed in sequence: bring the TAG key near the device (see figure) and
hold it there until operation is complete.
ON full arming - red LED on: bring TAG close to the reader and remove it as soon as the red LED indicator turns on.
ON/P partial arming - flashing red LED: bring the TAG close to the reader and remove it as soon as the red LED indicator begins to flash.
OFF disarming - flashing green LED: when the control panel is armed, bring the TAG close to the reader and hold it there until the green LED indicator begins to
flash.
LED indicators: LED Indicators operate normally unless they are disabled. Go to the ADJUSTMENT menu, item DISABLE LEDS on the touch-
screen to disable LED operation. When ON setting is confirmed, LED indicators will turn on for 30 seconds after each operation and will then
turn on again only when the TAG is brought near the reader.
Yellow LED: if it flashes when system is being armed (ON - ON/P) it is reporting that there are open windows/doors and/or alarm events taking place. If it flashing
after the system has been disarmed, it displays that an alarm event occurred during arming period: see alarm history log.
Caution!
Disabled arming with open windows/doors. If the unit is programmed as above (in compliance with EN 50131), all LED indicators will flash (constantly or
for 30 seconds according to JP1 setup) when attempts are made to totally or partially arm the control panel with open windows/doors and you will not be able to
arm the control panel. You need to close windows/doors or force arming using the Touch Screen.
Operation as an access control - door opening device:
the unit can control a relay board in order to open doors. It will also store access time, date and name of the
TAG that was used to open the door in the event history log. This is how you can control accesses. Caution! You must use an especially programmed key TAG, one
that differs from the one used to arm/disarm the system in order to perform this function. Setting up special TAG keys and relevant relay board part no. 4035: please
see Sil-Bus control panel manual.
LED indicators: when TAG is placed near the reader, all LED indicators turn on for an instant to confirm reading.
Installation instructions:
up to 16 TAG-BUS readers can be connected to the bus of the control panel. Each one takes up one of the 121 available positions. This reader is compatible with
standard Ethernet plugs and can therefore be installed in any module by previously removing the socket and replacing it with the reader.
The device requires parallel connection to the bus cable. Each terminal must therefore be supplied with an input and output cable unless the device is placed at the
end of a line.
Outdoor installation is not recommended as it would exposes the bus line to tampering. In the event of outdoor installation, please insert in series a Repeater part
no. 4009 to avoid that any tamper attempts effect upstream bus.

Stated IP protection class applies when the product is installed using standard electric boxes with a closed front cover. IP protection is not certified.
Tamper protection: during installation, housing opening must be protected with an appropriate tamper proof sensor in order to comply with Standard EN 50131-3.
Bus LED: flashing = successful bus polling off = bus faults: check END R and insert/remove it as required.

Addressing procedure:
press displayed keys in sequence, connect reader to the keyboard when prompted and wait for the operation to be completed.
Disconnect reader from keyboard and press

to complete the setup or complete setup at a later time.
Setup:
Press OLD, look for the reader, select it (highlight it) and press

. Select between ARM/DIS DEVICE and ACCESS C.
Set up reader's operating zones and supply zones with an ID. If the reader operates both as an arming device and as an access control device, program zones for both
functions. The reader will recognize a TAG key with arming functions and distinguishing it from another key with access control functions thereby automatically
executing the appropriate operation.
Other functions
Disabling TAG reader:
enter the DISABLING menu and change setting from ENABLED to DISABLELED to temporarily disable TAG reader.
Bus Relay 4035 and TAG readers: select TAG READER to associate selected TAG functions to a specific relay while setting up BUS relay. A reader can therefore
operate on several different relays, but multiple readers cannot operate on the same relay.
