Advanced Settings
Figure 3-10 Radio Page: Advanced Settings
This section allows configuring the following parameters:
Range Mode – allows selecting short range mode (default: Normal).
Use short range mode for cases where the received level (RSSI) exceeds -35dBm.
Short range allows the radio to work with higher RSSI levels (up to about -
26dBm), compared to the typical overload threshold of -35dBm.
When operating short links (or using large antennas to achieve high availability)
resulting in RSSI higher than -35dBm, it is recommended to switch both sides to
Short Range. In case expected RSSI is higher than -26dBm, adjust the Tx power
until RSSI is -26dBm and align the antennas.
Lowest Modulation – Lowest modulation profile. When modulation drops below
this threshold, radio link will be down. It is used to limit the minimal modulation
profile of the link. Default is QPSK 1 (lowest available).

Maintenance

This section allows configuring the following parameters:
RF Loopback – checkbox to enable the internal RF loopback, set the timeout for
clearing the loopback in seconds and select the modulation the ODU will be
tested at.
Note that it will take the ODU to stabilize after loopback up to 3 minutes so set the
loopback timeout accordingly (recommended 600 seconds).
