Carrying out the sensor check
The sensor check is an internal functional check of the photometer that is carried out auto-
matically once a week as standard. This period can be set freely or deactivated completely
(
Menu\Spec. function\Check interv.
).
Independently of this automatic process, a sensor check can be started at any time manually
or via an external control signal.

During the functional check, a 100% value is determined first. An optical filter is then moved
into the light beam and the resulting attenuation defined.
MANIPULATION

First, the following message ap-
pears:
100% run…
The display then changes to:
running…

If the check is successful,
Check OK
is dis-
played. The actual value now has to match the
nominal value (+/- tolerance).
If the check is not successful,
Check fault
is
displayed.
Possible causes of
Check fault
:
Too much external light.
Housing removed.
Excessive absorption in the
measuring cell.
Optics soiled.
Defect in the electronic system.

The instrument is back in measuring
operation.
