You can also c o n tro l th e sou n d level th ro u g h y o u r
c o m p u te r keyboard w ith th e tw o c u rs o r keys. The
CRSR =► key increases th e vo lu m e and the
CRSR # decreases th e volum e.
S elect y o u r in s tru m e n t (synthesizer, piano, o r bass)
w ith th e F5 key. You really have m ore than three
in s tru m e n ts to cho o se fro m because each o f these can
sou n d d iffe re n tly at d iffe re n t octaves. For exam ple, the
bass used in a h ig h e r octave so u n d s like a
h a rp sich o rd . C o n tro l th e octave w ith th e F3 and F1
fu n c tio n keys. T he F7 key can tu rn on o r o ff both a
s lid e o r a v ib ra to effect. Use th e s h ift o r s h ift lo ck keys
to h o ld notes longer. P laying hint: T he C -64 c o m p u te r
ke yb o a rd has c e rta in lim ita tio n s . W hen p la yin g m ore
than one note at a tim e, use the s h ift key on the
o p p o s ite side o f th e keyboard fro m y o u r p la yin g
p o sitio n . If y o u r p la yin g to th e rig h t, use th e left sh ift
key, and vice versa.
Use th e space bar to bend pitches, and create unusual
sound e ffe cts like th o se heard in to d a y ’s p o p u la r
