Introduction
EDM eco is a new fuel consumption measuring system that provides valuable information both for
the driver and for the fleet owner on consumption, distance travelled, operating times and driving
methods. EDM eco adapts to different driving styles: If the consumption display unit notes an
improvement in driving style the EDM eco asks the driver to drive even more economically. The
EDM eco can reduce fuel consumption by an average of 15 % and has been developed for drivers
who wish to save fuel and money as well as contribute to the protection of the environment.
As the EDM eco measures fuel consumption data directly at the fuel injectors, the device is
extremely accurate. If the system is calibrated correctly fuel can be measured to an accuracy of
± 3 %. The distance travelled is measured by the vehicle’s speed sensor. The distance travelled
is measured to an accuracy of ± 1 %.
The EDM eco is easy to install, calibrate and use. The EDM eco can be used in any vehicle fitted
with an electronically-controlled fuel injection system. The EDM eco is connected directly to the
vehicle’s electronic system, for example the CAN bus or the valve control system. Therefore you
do not have to access the fuel circuit directly to fit the EDM eco.
