6.2 Parameter description
SITRANS VP300 with or without HART
106
Operating Instructions, 03/2011, A5E01258666-03
3-stage diagnostics concept
The 3-stage diagnostics concept is activated by three thresholds:
● Threshold 1: Exceeding threshold 1 activates the "Maintenance required" message.
Maintenance is recommended.
● Threshold 2: Exceeding threshold 2 activates the "Maintenance demanded" message.
The control value is not working with the expected quality. Perform maintenance on the
control valve to eliminate process faults.
● Threshold 3: Exceeding threshold 3 activates the "Maintenance alarm" message.
The control valve is no longer operating correctly or is on the brink of failure. Perform
maintenance on the control valve immediately.
Depending on the menu, the limit value is either set directly or calculated from a basic limit
value and a factor according to the following formula:
Threshold n = Basic limit value * Factor n
An overview of the error messages, their causes, and measures for elimination can be found
in section "Status messages (Page 145)".
"3.6.1 General fittings error"
This menu is used to make settings regarding dynamic monitoring of the fittings behavior.
With the test activated, the actual progression of the position is compared with the expected
progression of the position. This comparison enables conclusions regarding the correct
operating behavior of the fitting. Check whether the "Basic limit value" and the "Factors"
apply to your application. Monitoring is active within the travel range of 5% to 95%. For
monitoring of the end stops, use the "Shift lower endstop" or "Shift upper endstop"
parameter.
The current value is displayed in percent in the "3.4.10 General fault of control valve"
(Page 94) parameter. If one of the three parameterizable thresholds exceeds this value
during the test, a maintenance message is output by the device.
"3.6.1.1 Activation"
Factory setting:
On
Setting options:
Off
On
Purpose:
Monitor valve for correct operating behavior.
Description:
This parameter is used to activate the "General valve fault" test for
dynamic monitoring of the fittings behavior.
