Saving settings outside the inverter 

After commissioning, your settings are saved in the inverter so that they are protected 

against power failure. 
We recommend that you additionally back up the settings on a storage medium outside the 

inverter. Without backup, your settings could be lost if the inverter develops a defect. 

 Replacing the Control Unit without data backup (Page 293) 

The following storage media are available for your settings:

Memory card 

●

 

PG/PC 

●

 

Operator panel 

 

 

Note 
Data backup using Operator Panels with USB connection with the PG/PC is not possible 
If the inverter is connected with a PG/PC via a USB cable, you cannot backup data to a 

memory card via an operator panel.

Disconnect the USB connection between the PG/PC and inverter before you backup data 

to the memory card via an operator panel. 

 

Carrying out series commissioning 

Series commissioning is the commissioning of several identical drives. 

Precondition 
The Control Unit to which the settings are transferred has the same article number and the 

same or a higher firmware version as the source Control Unit. 

Overview of the procedure 
1.

 

Commission the first inverter. 

2.

 

Back up the settings of the first inverter to an external storage medium. 

3.

 

Transfer the settings from the first inverter to an additional inverter via the data storage 

medium.
