Hazardous voltage
Electric motors have high voltages. When incorrectly handled, this can result in death or
severe injury.
Switch off the machine so that it is in a no-voltage condition before you open the terminal box.
NOTICE
Damage to the terminal box
If you incorrectly carry out work on or in the terminal box, this can result in material damage.
You must observe the following to avoid damaging the terminal box:
● Ensure that the components inside the terminal box are not damaged.
● It must be ensured that there are no foreign bodies, dirt or moisture in the terminal box.
● Close the terminal box using the original seal so that it is dust tight and water tight.
● Use O-rings or suitable flat gaskets to seal entries in the terminal box (DIN 42925) and
other open entries.
● Please observe the tightening torques for cable entries and other screws.

6.2 Basic rules
The following generally applies to electrical connections:
● Ensure that there is a safe and reliable PE ground connection before starting any work.
● The connecting cables can be sealed and secured at every cable entry point into the
terminal box.
● Lay the connecting cables and in particular the PE conductor in the terminal box in an open
arrangement so that chafing of the cable insulation is prevented.
● Connect the machine in such a way that a permanent, safe electrical connection is
maintained. Avoid protruding wire ends.
● Lay and secure external auxiliary cables separately from the main cable. Elements with
cable ties may be present for this purpose.
