Motor replacement on reaching the bearing life
Motor bearings are wearing parts. Their lifetime depends on various parameters including
rotation speed, load cycle, temperature, etc.
At medium loads, the motor bearings last approximately 25000 h.
The procedure for replacing the motor bearing depends on the size of the motor.
For 1FT2☐03 ... 1FT2☐05 motors, it is not possible to replace the motor bearings. Replace
these motors in their entirety.
Replacement of the motor bearings is
only intended for 1FT2☐06, 1FT2☐08, and 1FT2☐10.
Especially favorable ambient conditions, such as low average speed, low radial force
(transverse force) and vibration load can prolong the interval until motor replacement.
Note
Premature bearing and motor replacement
Harsh operating conditions, e.g. continuous operation at n
max
, high vibration/shock loads,
frequent reversing duty reduce the bearing or motor replacement interval by up to 50%.
Maintenance and repair of the motor can be performed by authorized Siemens Service
Centers throughout the world.
Contact your personal Siemens contact if you require this service.

How to replace a 1FT2 motor
Precondition
•
The new motor has the same article number as the motor to be replaced.
Note
You can replace a motor with a singleturn encoder AS22DQC (1FT2☐☐☐_☐☐☐☐☐
-
☐S☐☐)
or AS26DQC (1FT2☐☐☐_☐☐☐☐☐
-
☐B☐☐) with an otherwise identical motor with a
multiturn encoder AM22DQC (1FT2☐☐☐_☐☐☐☐☐
-
☐M☐☐)
or AM26DQC
(1FT2☐☐☐_☐☐☐☐☐
-
☐C☐☐) without recommissioning.
Note
If you want to replace the motor with a motor with a different article number, you must
perform converter commissioning after replacing the motor.
You can find more precise information in the manual for the converter in question.
