Automatic energy limitation
Description of function
SIDOOR controllers have a system that automatically limits the kinetic energy in the closing
direction.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to moving mechanical parts
Independently of the maximum closing speed automatically determined during the learn
run, the kinetic energy of the door in the closing direction has to be checked by the
commissioning engineer after a learn run.
•
According to EN 81, the kinetic energy of the door in the closing direction must not
exceed 10 joules while the reversing device is enabled.
•
Without enabled reversing device, the kinetic energy of the door in the closing direction
must not exceed 4 joules according to EN 81 and each closing operation must be
signaled acoustically. The signal sound is not part of the SIDOOR system and must be
secured externally and made available by the operator.
The set maximum closing speed and the nudging speed must be reduced accordingly.
Check the final application-specific limit values and adjust the limit values accordingly.
SIDOOR ATD4xxW
SIDOOR ATD4xxW controllers include a system that automatically limits the kinetic energy
in the opening and closing directions.
The energy limitation values are specified in the parameters p1202 (in the closing direction)
and p1203 (in the opening direction). After a successfully completed learn run, the speed
values of driving parameters p3668 and p3664 are determined and overwritten according to
the determined weight and configured energy limitation.
The automatic energy limitation can be suppressed by setting the corresponding energy
limiting parameter to "0". Suppressed energy limiting means that the respective speed is not
overwritten by the learn run.
