7.3 Configuration of the Device

Communication Protocol IEC 60870-5-104
To edit the settings of the Ethernet communication with IEC 60870-5-104 bus protocol, proceed as follows:

In the navigation window, click the Administrative menu and then Communication Ethernet .

Select the entry IEC 60870-5-104 from the Bus protocol list box.

Enter the desired values in the fields and select the corresponding parameters using the list boxes and
radio buttons according to table 7-10 on page 114.

After the parameterization click Send .
The parameters are transmitted to the device but not enabled yet (passive set of parameters).

If you do not want to make any additional settings, continue with the Activation of the device configuration
according to section Activating the Set of Parameters . If you want to change other settings, enter the
changes and then enable the device configuration as described in section Activating the Set of
Parameters .
NOTE
Measured values transmitted with the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol are divided into different data groups for the
parameterization. With the selection of the
Measured value data group , it is determined, for which measured
values the further parameters apply.
To navigate to the page for setting the measured value data group , click either the entry IEC 60870-5-104
page (see figure 7-37) or select the menu item IEC 60870-5-104 in the Administrative menu. You will find
more information on this topic in the following section Default Settings and Setting Ranges of the Measured
Value Data Groups .
