Appendix C – Troubleshooting
The following addresses issues that may arise during the MT8001 configuration
process.
C.1 Downloading
(transfer)
C.1.1 ActiveSync won’t connect with the MT8001
When connecting to the MT8001, ActiveSync sometimes does not recognise the
MT8001.
Disconnect and reconnect the cable from the MT8001
After you have initiated
Connect
on ActiveSync, while it is trying to connect, physi-
cally unplug the cable from the MT8001 (COM1) and then reconnect it. ActiveSync
should start to function normally.
If it still doesn’t connect, perform the steps in the following procedure:
Do not do this during Configuration download.
If the cable becomes discon-
nected during the download of the configuration data (after you have started to
send the XML data), follow the procedure described in the next section.
1.
Open the
Connection Settings
window of the
ActiveSync
utility.
2.
Uncheck the selection box that allows a COM-port connection.
3.
Select
OK
to save the setting.
4.
Re-open the window (this prepares you for step 6).
5.
Go to the MT8001 and start the ActiveSync via the
Get Connected
command
button.
6.
Return to the PC quickly, and re-enable the COM-port connection.
7.
Select the
Get Connected
button.
After a few seconds, the link will be established.
