Using the handset as a walky-talky

When you press the talk key
c
or the
handsfree key
d
in the walky-talky
mode, the call is sent to all handsets in the
walky-talky mode. The connection is
made with the first handset which
answers the walky-talky call.

The loudspeaker volume and the advi-
sory tones are set in the same way as if
your handset was connected with the
base station (page 52).
u
"Activate/deactivate ringtone"
(page 53) and "Activate/deactivate key-
pad lock" (page 9) are possible in
walky-talky mode.

Using the handset in
the walky-talky mode as
a room monitor
You can also use the walky-talky function
as a room monitor: The alarm is then sent
to all handsets in the walky-talky mode as
soon as the noise level in the room
reaches the set level.
During the call, all keys are locked except
the end call key. The room monitor
function
remains
active
after you end the
call. The function must be reactivated
after switching off the handset.

Set the sensitivity for the necessary
noise level (

The room monitor is now activated or
deactivated.
Note:
–
You should always check the operation
of the room monitor before use. Test the
sensitivity and the connection for exam-
ple.
– The active room monitor function consider-
ably reduces the operating time of the
handset. Place the handset in the charging
cradle if necessary. This ensures that the
battery does not discharge.
– The handset should be 1 or 2 metres away
from the baby. The microphone must be
directed towards the baby.
– Please bear in mind that the room monitor
of the walky-talky function does not offer
absolute safety.
