Fig. 2 illustrates a typical
double unit
configuration with one CPU module and six
I/O modules, i.e. the largest possible configuration.

DF8000 double unit
The DF8000 can thus be defined as a flexible system, organised in units compris-
ing the modules listed below:
•
1 CPU module ;
•
1 to 3 I/O modules (single CMX-DL protocol unit)
-- OR --
4 to 6 I/O modules (double CMX-DL protocol unit).
The CPU module (DF8003) is the intelligent module that takes care of data acquisi-
tion and communication with the host. The I/O modules are available in four mod-
els with either 8 ACTIVE/INACTIVE inputs (DF8040), 4 supervised
ALARM/TAMPER NC (Normally Closed) or NO (Normally Open) inputs
(DF8045/46), or 8 outputs (DF8020).
DF8000 Hardware Configurations
The DF8000 units can be arranged in different configurations, ranging from 1 to 16
single units or 8 double units, with an RS485 line connection up to 1200 meters
long. Fig. 3 illustrates a DF8000 system example with a multi-drop connection of
units to an NK8000 Ethernet Port (NK822x) , via an RS232/RS485 interface con-
verter (ACP DAS I-7520).
