Protective film for 10" devices with glass touch screen
Product Information
A5E46835557
This product information is valid for the following protective films:
●
Protective film 10" widescreen, type 4, article number 6AV6881-0AJ21-0AA0
●
Protective film 10" front, type 4, article number 6AV6881-0AJ11-0AA0
The protective film prevents the device's glass touch screen from getting dirty or scratched. The protective film is self-
adhesive. The "anti-glare" and "anti-fingerprint" properties of the protective film reduce reflections and visible fingerprints
after operation. The protective film generally does not affect the operation of the touch screen.
The description below shows you how to attach the protective films using the SIMATIC ITP1000 as an example; the
description also applies to other 10" widescreen devices with glass touch screen.
Attaching the protective film
1.
Switch off the device.
2.
Clean the front of the device with a microfiber cloth. Use the microfiber cloth provided for the 10" widescreen protective
film. Use a regular mild household cleaning agent in the event of extensive soiling.
3.
Attach the protective film as shown in the figures below.

Remove 2-3 cm of the protective paper backing from the
back of the protective film and apply the protective film to
the designated area on the glass front. Do not touch the
back of the protective film.
Slowly remove the protective paper backing from right to
left below the protective film and press down the protective
film from the center to the corners using the supplied
spatula.
Remove the protective paper backing from the back of the
protective film. Do not touch the back of the protective film.
Attach the protective film to the device front as shown from
left to right.
Because the display for most SIMATIC HMI 10" devices is
recessed in the enclosure, a small gap will remain
between protective film and display. This gap does not
affect operability of the device.
4.
Affix the protective film carefully with the microfiber cloth in the contact area.
Small bubbles generally disappear on their own after a few hours.
Removing the protective film
1.
Lift the protective film carefully in one corner. Make sure that you do not scratch the glass touch screen. Use the
adhesive pads provided for the 10" widescreen protective film.
2.
Pull the protective foil carefully in the direction of the opposite corner.
