5 Electrical installation
5.1 Notes on electrical installation
The product documentation for the device contains detailed information on electrical

5.2 Ethernet interface
Function of the Ethernet interface
• Parameterizing the device using the SOPASair software.
• Forwarding the difference between the actual position and target position of the
automated storage and retrieval system to the controller.
The precise difference between the actual position and target position are forwarded
to the controller as X-values and Y-values. Based on these values, the control initiates
position correction of the automated storage and retrieval system. The device supports
various communication protocols when using the Ethernet interface. The communica‐
tion protocol can be set using the SOPASair operating software.

5.3 Digital inputs and digital outputs
Function of the digital inputs and digital outputs
• Communicating with the controller.
• Forwarding information on the position of the automated storage and retrieval
system to the controller.
The device transmits direction information (up, down, right, left) via the digital outputs.
The automated storage and retrieval system approach the target position step-by-step
based on this direction information. The device does not transmit any quantitative
information about the difference between the actual position and target position of the
automated storage and retrieval system.
The device is triggered via the digital input. The device outputs the position results
using 4 digital outputs. Use the pins listed below.

10 Sensor 1, digital input, IN 1 Switch continuous measurement on
and off.
15 Sensor 2, digital input, IN 2 Activate and deactivate double deep
mode.
13 IN/OUT 3 Direction information: top
