Start with copy internal -> external
When it starts, the CLV loads the internal parameter set to its RAM. It then copies the para-
meter set to the external memory and resets the start option to S

The two "Device Ready" and "Read Result" LEDs blink alternately for approx. 10 s. The "De-
vice Ready" LED then lights up constantly.
The data is not lost when the device is switched off since it is stored permanently in the CLV
and is identical to the internal parameter set.
10.3.4
Switching on the device for the first time
Since the external parameter memory is empty on delivery, the "Device Ready" and "Read
Result" LEDs blink constantly when the device is switched on for the first time with the de-
fault setting (S

). The CLV has not found an external
parameter set and has loaded the internal parameter set. However, it is not ready for
operation and does not output data on the host interface.
¾
Transfer the CLV parameter set to the parameter memory for the first time as described
Chapter 6.3.2 Switching the CLV with external parameter memory connected on for
the first time with the factory default settings, Page 6-4

option with an external para-
meter memory and if the parameter set is downloaded from CLV-Setup to the CLV with the
permanent
storage option, CLV-Setup asks you whether the new parameter set is also to
be copied to the external parameter memory (
This function prevents the CLV
from reloading the old parameter set the next time it starts.

Adjust the parameter set in the external parameter memory as described in
