Assembling Model 289233
1. Install air pressure regulator (201) to the
gun air inlet fitting (25). See F
IG
. 2.
2. Install pressure tube (110) firmly onto
regulator safety valve (203) tee.
3. Install pressure tube into cup pressure inlet
fitting (111) as far as it will go then tighten
fitting clockwise. See F
IG
. 4, page 8.
4. Pull out the air pressure regulator (201) knob
and turn it counterclockwise until it stops.
This shuts off air pressure to the gun.
5. Connect a clean, dry filtered air supply to
the gun air regulator inlet (205).
6. If this is the first time using the equipment,
flush the gun. See page 7.
Operation
Pressure Relief Procedure
1. Turn off the gun air supply.
2. Model 289233: Turn regulator (201) knob
fully counterclockwise. Relieve cup pressure
by opening the cup pressure relief valve
(112). See F
IG
. 2, page 5.
3. Trigger the gun to relieve pressure.
Spraying
1. Turn on shop air and fluid supply to the gun
and set atomizing pressure and fluid
pressure with the gun fully triggered.
2. Adjust the pattern size and shape with the
fluid control valve (8). Fluid control valve (8)
is factory set for maximum needle/trigger
travel and material flow. Turn knob clock-
wise to reduce pattern size/ fluid flow and
counterclockwise to increase it.

Model 289233: Never open cup before
relieving pressure. Paint can erupt from
a pressurized cup.
CAUTION
Excessive atomizing air pressure can increase
over-spray, reduce transfer efficiency, and
result in a poor quality finish. Regulatory
agencies in certain states prohibit the
operation of a spray gun above 10 psi
(69 kPa, 0.7 bar) atomizing air cap pressure.
See Troubleshooting, page 10, if you
experience an irregular pattern.
