POWER ZOOM
This feature enables you to move the camcorder's
apparent point of view closer to a subject or further
away from it without actually moving the cam
corder.
Press the T side of the power zoom button for tele
photo (subject appears closer) and the W side for
wide-angle (subject appears farther away).
If you li ghtly hold down the button, the lens zooms
in or out slowly. Press down firmly to zoom more
quickly.
SU PER WIDE-ANGLE LENS
The wide-angle lens is convenient for shooting
indoor scenes, and large building, and for taking in
an entire panoramic scene in one shot.

Pressing the LENS SELECT button to switch
between the fixed wide-angle lens and the power
Zoom Zone display disappears
zoom lens. (The picture will change alternately from

one to the other each time you press the LENS
SELECT button.)
This can be used to create the appearance of
instantaneous zooms on the recorded tape. And
it can also be used to create special fades and
wipes, and to make picture-in-picture recordings as
described on the next page.

When the fixed wide-angle lens is selected
("SUPER WIDE" and the rectan gular zooming
zone frame appear in the viewfi nder), centre
the zooming-zone frame on the desired subject
while pressing the zoom button to zoom in.

Press the LENS SELECT button.
The power zoom lens' view wi ll be selected , for
an apparently instantaneous zoom in.

• If the zoom lens is in the Telephoto mode, the picture you
see in the zooming-zone frame of the wide-angle lens may
differ from the picture when you press
LENS SELECT
and
see the actual view through the zoom lens.
• The zooming-zone frame is not recorded on the tape.
