OPERATION

CONTROLLING TEMPE-
RATURES

The inside temperature of the refrigera-
tor is controlled by the temperature cotrol
knob.
Once the knob is adjusted, it automati-
cally keeps the inside of the refrigerator
at the desired temperature.

NOTE

•The knob cannot be turned beyond-MAX

position and should not be forced be-
yond this mark.

•When the knob is set at the WARM dew

drops may be formed.

DEFROSTING

The freezer compartment is re-
quired defrosting operation.
When frost formed with the thick-
ness of 5mm (as thick as the
defrost indicator), the freezer
compartment is required defrost-
ing operation.
And water is discharged in the
evaporating pan provided above
the compressor, and evaporated
by the compressor heat.

PROCEDURE

Remove the ice cube tray and food from the
freezer compartment.

Push the defrosting button.
It is recommended to push the defrosting but-
ton before going to bed in order to complete
the defrosting overnight. When 5mm-thick frost
builds on the evaporator, defrosting would be
complete in about 3-4 hours (during summer).
After completion of defrosting, cooling opera-
tion starts automatically.

Turn the control knob to OFF position, and set
the control knob to original position (example: Nor-
mal) to start cooling operation.

NOTE

• Be sure to refrain from taking off the frost stick-

ing to the evaporator by using a gimlet or a knife.

• If the thickness overs the

defrost indicator, de-
frosted water may over-
flow the evaporating
pan. Pay due attention
to this regard.

• Be careful not to defrost when frozen food is

stored in the freezer compartment, otherwise it
will thaw. Therefore, it is recommended to per-
form defrosting  when no frozen food is stored.
