The grill function
The grilling process uses radiation heat to process the food. This programme is suitable for
cooking 'au gratin' or for grilling thin pieces of meat.
Select the desired grilling time. The grilling time can be pre-set to a maximum of 60 minutes.
The power setting of the grill function cannot be changed. As the meat needs to be turned
after one side is sufficiently browned, and taken out once it is done on both sides, this
process should be closely monitored.
Example: programming the grill function for 30 minutes.
1. Press . The symbol starts blinking on the display.

Mic grill
When using this function, the microwave and grill functions are activated alternately at
different time settings. The use of the microwave and grill combination shortens the cooking
time, which can be pre-set to a maximum of 60 minutes.
The combinations can be selected by pressing either or . Once the desired cooking-
time has been selected, the cooking process is started by pressing .

The microwave function is active for 30% of the pre-programmed time, the grill function for
the remaining 70%.
This programme is useful for fish, potatoes or cooking 'au gratin'.

The microwave function is active for 55% of the pre-programmed time, the grill function for
the remaining 45%.
This programme can be used for poultry, omelettes etc.
Example: you want the Combination programme to run for 25 minutes.

Automatic defrost programme (
)
The microwave can be used for defrosting meat, poultry, fish and sea-food. The defrosting
time and power setting are automatically adjusted when the defrosting function is selected
and the weight of the food to be defrosted is entered. You can defrost between 100g and 4
kg of food at a time.
Helpful notes:
- The defrosting process should be interrupted at regular intervals and those food portions
already defrosted should be taken out; this is to ensure that food already defrosted will
not take away heat from food that still requires defrosting.
- Should the food not be fully defrosted after the pre-set defrosting time has elapsed, it is
advisable to limit any further defrosting to 1-minute periods at a low setting until the
food is fully defrosted.
- Food stored in plastic containers or wrapped in plastic should be left standing for a while
