Cleaning the coffee chute
After prolonged use, coffee powder can accumulate on the inside of the
coffee chute. This prevents the coffee powder from properly reaching the
brewing unit For this reason, clean the coffee chute in regular intervals.
1. Make sure that the appliance is switched off, has cooled down and
the power plug is unplugged.
2. Take off the maintenance lid and remove the brewing unit,
►“Daily cleaning” on page 13, step 10–12.
3. Clean the coffee chute with a cotton swab.

4. Re-insert the brewing unit.
5. Attach maintenance lid again.

Descaling the appliance
Over time, scale can accumulate inside the appliance. This impairs the func-
tion of the appliance. Consequently, the coffee may be cold or stale. Severe
scale deposits may damage the appliance. The appliance must be descaled
when the LED
is lit. Even if the LED is not lit, the appliance should be
descaled once per month.
1. Make sure that the appliance is switched off and the power plug is
unplugged.
2.
Remove the water tank. If a water filter is used, it must be removed
for the duration of the descaling process.
3.
Please fill water container to MAX mark.
4.
Add a tablet of the decalcifier provided to the water tank.
TIP
If you do not use the decalcifier provided, observe
the dosing instructions on the packaging.
5. Plug the mains plug into the outlet.
6.
Place a sufficiently large container (> 1 l) under the outlet.
7. To switch the appliance on, press the on/off button
.
8. Press the on/off button
and button for 5 seconds.

TIP
If descaling has been activated accidentally, you can
stop at any time by pressing the on/off button

9. To start descaling, press button .
