appliance comes with a double graduation
scale, the one on the left -hand side
corresponds to medium-sized cups with
a capacity of approx. 125 ml, the one on
the right-hand side to smaller-sized coff ee
cups. Take care not to exceed the indicated
maximum number of cups.
Always
z
switch off
and allow the coff ee
maker to
cool down
for about 5 minutes
before it is switched on again.
Warning!
z
Be careful not to fi ll water into
the reservoir immediately aft er a brewing
cycle is complete as hot steam may escape
from the water nozzle.
To prepare fi lter coff ee
Filling the water reservoir
–
Open the water reservoir lid. Fill the reservoir
with the required amount of fresh cold water
and close the lid.
Inserting the paper fi lter
–
Insert a
size-4
paper fi lter, fi rst folding down
the perforated sides of the fi lter.
Adding ground coff ee
–
We recommend using fi ne ground fi lter
coff ee, approximately 6 g = 1½ - 2 tsp. per
medium-sized cup (125 ml).
Preparing the jug
–
Replace the jug back into the appliance.
Coff ee maker with ”put on” fi lter holder:
Place the fi lter holder on top of the jug before
replacing the jug back into the appliance.
Coff ee maker with pivoted fi lter holder:
Place the jug lid or the drip-through lid onto
the jug before replacing the jug back into the
appliance.
Starting the fi ltering process
–
Plug in the appliance and switch on. Th
e
fi ltering process begins.
Removing the jug
–
When the fi ltering process is complete, i.e. all
water has run through the fi lter holder into
the jug, remove the jug to serve the coff ee.
Coff ee maker with ”put on” fi lter holder:
Remove the fi lter holder from the jug and
replace it by the jug lid.
Switching off the appliance
–
Once the fi ltering process is complete, switch
off the appliance and unplug from the mains
supply socket.
Coff ee maker with hotplate:
Th
e hotplate will keep remaining coff ee warm
as long as you leave it switched on. Switch the
appliance off aft er use.
Coff ee maker with drip-through lid
During the fi
ltering process and while
pouring the coff ee out, the drip-through lid
does not need to be removed and should
remain on the jug. To pour the coff ee, press
the lever on the lid down to open it, when the
coff ee may now pass out through the spout.
Coff ee maker with vacuum jug
For technical reasons the screw cap does
–
not close hermetically. Th
erefore always
hold the jug in an upright position.
A vacuum jug accumulates heat energy.
–
Th
erefore the jug should preferably be
fi lled to its maximum capacity.
If it is only
partly fi lled, the temperature will not be
held as effi
ciently.
If you rinse out the jug
with hot water before use, the coff ee will
be kept warm for a longer time.
Vacuum jug with glass fl ask
Th
e glass fl ask of the jug is made of high
quality double-walled glass with a vacuum
in-between for better insulation. Any
marks inside the jug looking like bubbles or
scratches do not aff ect its use nor its ability to
keep the temperature.
In case the glass is damaged for one or the
other reason as mentioned below, there is
a risk that the glass fl ask implodes.
Th
is
might happen quite some time aft er the glass
fl ask has actually been damaged.
Th
erefore do not drink out of the jug and
z
do not put your hand into it. Always close
the jug with its screw cap. Th
e coff ee can
be poured out easily by half a turn of the
cap, without removing the cap. Do not
leave the vacuum jug unattended near
where children may reach it.
