4.3 How to output a PPS (Pulse-per-Second)
signal
The PolaRx5S can output a PPS (Pulse-per-Second) signal that can be used for example, to
synchronize a secondary device to UTC time.
Step 1: Connect a cable with a BNC connector
Connect a cable with a BNC connector to the rear-panel connector labelled

and
indicated in Figure 4-13.

Step 2: Configure the PPS settings
You can con

The
Interval
is the time interval between successive timing pulses and is selectable between
10 ms and 10 s. The default
Polarity
of the PPS signal is a low-to-high transition which can
be alternatively con
fi
gured as high-to-low.
The
Delay
argument can be used to compensate for signal delays in the system (including
antenna, antenna cable and PPS cable). For example, if the antenna cable is replaced by a
