Amplitude Window
(
only available with Ultra Receiver
)
– The amplitude window
defines the dynamic range of the signal that is recorded. The larger amplitude windows
will collect a wider range of amplitude values, but smaller amplitude windows will record
more precise amplitude data. This also determines the resolution of the digitally
sampled signal.
Pressing the + and - buttons under Amplitude Window in Figure 5-36 will increase or
decrease the vertical scale. Remember that the value shown is the entire range, so if
1000 mV is selected, then the scale goes from -500 mV to +500 mV. Unless clipping of
the signal is desired, the amplitude window should be large enough to encompass the
maximum amplitude of the pulse.
•
Auto Amplitude Window
– pressing this button will automatically search for the
smallest amplitude window that does not clip the signal, and adjust the scale
accordingly.

Note
: if the pulse cannot be found, and all connections are made, check the batteries in the
transmitter. If the batteries are OK, there could be a problem with the transmitter.

GPS
The GPS test will ensure that the system is communicating properly with the GPS and receiving
data. Pressing
GPS
will show the screen in Figure 5-37.
