Circularly Polarized Antenna for the UHF Band                                  03.2006

The A 5000-CP antenna has RF performance characteristics that are extremely
desirable for usage in the UHF broadcast band, both as transmit and receive
device. Actual installations have demonstrated that the circular polarization of
this antenna minimizes variations in signal strength and almost completely
eliminates multipath problems, a primary cause of ‘hits’ or nulls. The gain of this
antenna over the entire UHF band is superior to the common ‘off the shelf’ an-
tennas. The A 5000-CP’s extreme broadband capability provides the freedom to
utilize just one antenna model anywhere in the UHF spectrum. Because of its
unique 3 dimensional radiation pattern, the antenna can be mounted above the
talent or venue, oriented with the antenna element facing down. With the main
lobe (maximum gain) of the antenna pointing downward to the desired source,
this arrangement has the advantage of greatly reduced sensitivity for potentially
interfering signals arriving horizontally.
