TRIMMING 4-WIRE LOAD CELLS
The figure below shows a diagram of three trimmed load cells.
A variable resistor, independent of the temperature, or a typically 20 Ω potentiometer is inserted in the
+Excitation cable of each load cell. There are two ways to trim the load cells: The first method is to adjust the
potentiometers by trial, shifting the calibration weights from one corner to another. All the potentiometers must
be adjusted so as to set the maximum sensitivity for each cell, turning them all completely clockwise. Then,
once the angle with the lowest output is located, act on the trimmers of the other cells until obtaining the same
minimum output value. This method can be very long, especially for large scales where the use of test weights
