BEFORE FIRST USE
■
Take the appliance out of the packaging material and remove all
promotional labels and stickers from it.
■
Wipe the baking plates
A6
with a lightly dampened cloth or
sponge and then wipe it thoroughly dry.
■
Before first use, run the appliance empty for 5 to 7 minutes to
remove any potential odours.
Note:
Light smoke may be emitted when the appliance is
started for the first time. This effect is caused by the inner
components being heated up and it will disappear after
a few moments.
OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
■
Connect the sandwich maker to a power socket. Both indicators on
the top panel will be lit. The red indicator
A2
signals a connection
to an electrical power source. The green indicator
A1
indicates
that the baking plates
A6
are being heated.
■
Coat the baking plates
A6
with a little butter or cooking oil, and
close the sandwich maker to help the baking plates
A6
heat up
faster.
■
Prepare your sandwiches before the plates
A6
heat up. For one
sandwich you will need two slices of bread and the ingredients to
go between them. Place the filling ingredients precisely between
the sandwich bread slices. Putting in too many ingredients may
prevent the sandwich maker from closing. In such a case, it is
necessary to remove some of the ingredients. Do not attempt to
close the sandwich maker using force as this could damage it.
■
When the baking plates
A6
are heated to the operating
temperature, the green indicator
A1
will turn off.
Note:
The green indicator
A1
turns on and off intermittently
during operation. This signalises that the operating
temperature is being maintained.
■
Open the sandwich maker using the handle
A3
and place one
or two sandwiches on to the bottom baking plate. Close the
sandwich maker and use the latch
A4
to secure the handles
A3
to each other.
■
After 3 to 5 minutes, release the latch
A4
and use the handle
A3
to
tilt open the top plate, and check the sandwich. If it is sufficiently
toasted, take it out. Otherwise, extend the toasting time. Use
a wooden or another heat resistant spatula, etc. to remove the
sandwich. Do not use a knife or fork or any other metal utensils.
This could cause damage to the non-stick coating of the baking
plates
A6
.
Note:
The toasting time depends on the type of bread, the
ingredients and your taste.
■
Before toasting more sandwiches, close the sandwich maker and
wait until the green indicator
A1
turns off.
■
After you finish using it, disconnect the power cord from the
power socket. Allow the sandwich maker to cool down and
clean it according to the instructions in chapter Cleaning and
maintenance.
SANDWICH MAKING TIPS
■
As base ingredients for the sandwich filling, you may use meat,
fish, cheeses, smoked goods, boiled egg slices, mushrooms or fruit
and vegetables such as bananas, apples, pineapples or tomatoes.
Do not use excessive amount of filling, to prevent it from spilling
on to the baking plates
A6
.
■
You may season the filling with spices, herbs, ketchup, etc.
■
For the sandwiches to get a golden brown colour, you may spread
a light layer or butter on the top side of the sandwich bread slice.
