MAINTENANCE
There is no periodic maintenance required with this system. However, there are some procedures to follow
when replacing the sensor or the punch.
INSTALLING A REPLACEMENT 387 SENSOR
Install a replacement 387 sensor as shown in the
>
Installation
=
section of this manual. Make sure the
connector is fully seated and that the hose and clamp are secured properly. There are two special
considerations to make when replacing a sensor.
1.
The replacement sensor
MUST
be wired with no power to the module. This ensures that the sensor
and module communicate properly.
2.
The sensor
MUST
be recalibrated once power is applied. Although a newer style sensor with the
calibration information stored in EEPROM may indicate that it is calibrated, it must be recalibrated to
the punch on the bodymaker.
INSTALLING A REPLACEMENT PUNCH
After a replacement punch is installed, make sure the sensor is remounted as shown in the
>
Installation
=
section of this manual. The sensor
MUST
be recalibrated to the replacement punch for proper operation.
