Checking the thermostat
1. Suspend the thermostat in a container of
water.
2. Place a thermometer in the water and
slowly heat the water.
3. Measure the thermostat valve opening

at the specified water temperatures.
Replace if out of specification.
Installing the oil filter
1. Install the oil filter union bolt 1 , and then
tighten it to the specified torque.
2. Install the oil filter

, and then tighten it
to the specified torque.
Installing the oil pressure switch
1. Install the oil pressure switch

, and
then tighten it to the specified torque.
2. Install the oil pressure switch lead 1 ,
and then tighten the bolt

to the speci-
fied torque.
Installing the thermo sensor
1. Install a new gasket

and the thermo
