To install tire tube:

Use only Segway-approved tube (18911-
00001—single; 21193-00001—quantity five).
The 90-degree bend in valve stem is
necessary for proper clearance.

To install new tire (use Segway part number
20543-00001), seat outside bead on wheel by
hand before installing tube ( Figure 4-12 ).
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged.
2. Reminder: Wear safety glasses.
3. Inflate tube with just enough air to give tube
a circular shape ( Figure 4 ‐ 13 ).

4. Align valve stem with opening in rim and
feed tube into tire around rim ( Figure 4 ‐ 14 ).
Make sure there are no kinks, bends, or folds
in tube. Push valve stem through opening in
rim.

5. Work outside bead by hand back over rim as
much as possible ( Figure 4 ‐ 15 ).

A puncture can occur if tube is pinched between
tire iron and tire bead or rim.
