Elastomer Bushing Inspection, Removal, and Installation
To inspect elastomer bushing:
Check
to
see
if
elastomer
bushing
is
worn
or
damaged.
Presence
of
excessive
particles
of
elastomer
material
indicates
replacement
is
necessary.

Inspect
Elastomer
Bushing
To remove elastomer bushing:
1.
Make
sure
Segway
PT
is
powered
off
and
unplugged.
2.
Pull
elastomer
bushing
off
motor
coupling.
Completely clean residue from drive coupling and
cavity using cotton swabs and household window
cleaner. Repeat process with isopropyl alcohol
until fully clean.
To install elastomer bushing:
1.
Make
sure
Segway
PT
is
powered
off
and
unplugged.
2.
Making
sure
tabs
on
elastomer
bushing
go
on
first,
align
new
elastomer
bushing
with
coupling,
and
slide
on
until
seated.
