The throt tle con trol has been pre set at the fac to ry and
ad just ment should not be necessary. Check adjustment
as de scribed below before loosening cable. If adjustment
is necessary, proceed as follows:
• With engine not running, move throt tle control lever to
fast position.
• Check that swivel is against stop. If it is not, loosen
cable clamp screw and pull cable back until swivel is
against stop. Tighten cable clamp screw securely.
TO AD JUST CHOKE CONTROL (See Fig. 32)
The choke control has been preset at the factory and ad-
just ment should not be necessary. Check adjustment as
de scribed below before loosening cable. If adjustment is
necessary, proceed as follows:
• With engine not running, move choke control (located
on dash panel) to full choke position.
• Loosen knob and remove cover as
sem bly from air
cleaner.
• Choke should be closed. If it is not, loosen casing clamp
screw and move choke cable until choke is com plete ly
closed. Tighten casing clamp screw se curely.
• Replace air cleaner cover assembly and tighten
knob.
TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
Your carburetor is not adjustable. If your engine does not
operate properly due to suspected carburetor problems,
take your tractor to an authorized service center for repair
and/or adjustment.
High speed stop is factory ad just ed. Do not adjust - dam-
age may result.
IMPORTANT:
NEVER TAMPER WITH THE ENGINE GOVERNOR,
WHICH IS FACTORY SET FOR PROPER ENGINE SPEED.
OVERSPEEDING THE ENGINE ABOVE THE FACTORY HIGH
SPEED SETTING CAN BE DAN GER OUS. IF YOU THINK THE
ENGINE-GOVERNED HIGH SPEED NEEDS ADJUSTING,
CONTACT A SEARS OR OTHER QUALIFIED SERVICE CENTER,,
WHICH HAS PROPER EQUIP MENT AND EX PE RI ENCE TO
MAKE ANY NEC ES SARY ADJUSTMENTS.
