SEALUX CD 700 housing - operating instructions
Congratulations on the purchase of your new
SEALUX
underwater housing. You
have made an excellent choice. With the SEALUX underwater housing you have
acquired a professional housing meeting the highest demands. We paid special
attention to ensuring the highest reliability and durability possible.
The most important steps to fit the Nikon inside the
SEALUX CD 700 underwater housing:
1. Preparation of lenses:
In order to allow the transmission of a zoom or a manual focus function, a suitable
cog wheel needs to be fitted to the lens in use. For this purpose the cog wheel has
to be pushed onto the lens gently and evenly. Its exact position is important: the
cog wheel drive should run in the centre of the zoom cog wheel. Owing to lens and
cog wheel manufacturing tolerances it may be necessary to compensate such
tolerances by using a thin strip of adhesive tape (Sellotape). The cog wheel should
always remain on the lens.
2. Fitting the camera:
Remove strap eyes, display cover and rubber from eyepiece.
Switch on your camera.
Fit the port suitable to the interchangeable lens you have chosen (see below).
Place the underwater housing with the port onto a table and open the housing.
Route the synch chord towards the outside.
Remove Autofocus / Manual Focus switching shaft (if fitted).
The lever for +/- and mode must be in the neutral position (after fitting the camera
levers must not contact any of the keys).
The lens release lever must be inserted behind the zoom adjustment wheel.
Please ensure that the On-Off lever inside the housing is in a horizontal position
with the lever pointing to the right. Set the On-Off switch on the Nikon D700 to the
On position.
Place the Nikon D700 onto the tripod plate stops and fasten the tripod plate with
the tripod bolt using a coin. Insert the camera into the housing with the slide,
moving it along the guide rails, secure the slide by turning the plastic discs and
tighten the mounting bolts. Now push the synch chord plug onto the camera's flash
shoe until you feel a positive stop.
Check all functions on the front part of the housing.
