WARNING!

 

Be careful when inserting or removing the bore scope shaft into, and out of, the equipment  

 

under inspection.

 

Before and after use, check the bore scope for tears and abrasions.

 

Check the bore scope for correct lighting operation. If dim, or no lighting evident, replace the batteries.

 

Check the bore scope for smooth eyepiece rotation.

4.1. Note the location of the object to be inspected and determine a route to it. Bend the bore scope shaft to  
 

follow the route.

4.2. 

DO NOT

 bend the bore scope shaft tighter than Ø76mm.

4.3. 

DO NOT 

expose the bore scope housing to water or other liquids.

4.4. 

DO NOT

 insert the bore scope shaft into locations whose temperature is greater than 70°C.

4.5. 

DO NOT

 use the bore scope close to moving parts such as gears, fan blades or moving belts.

 

Battery Replacment

 

WARNING! Disconnect the bore scope prior to carrying out maintenance or battery replacement. 

 

Be careful when inserting, or removing, the battery pack so as not to strain or damage the connecting  

 

leads. 

REFER TO FIG 2.

3.1. Remove the battery housing door with a Phillips screwdriver.
3.2. Tilt the battery pack from the bottom of the bore scope handle and remove it.
3.3. Unclip the connector - if required - and replace the batteries.
3.4. Re-attach the connector and relocate the battery pack in the bore scope handle.
3.5. Replace the battery housing door using a Phillips screwdriver.

 

Lighting

3.6. The VS819900 bore scopes are equipped with integrated, solid-state LED lamps. These lamps are   
 

designed to be maintenance-free for the life of the instrument.

 

Cleaning and Storage

3.7.

 

Wipe the bore scope tip, shaft and housing with a clean, soft cloth to remove residue and moisture.

3.8. Wash the bore scope tip and shaft with a cleaning liquid and rinse with water, then dry.
3.9. Gently clean the Distal Tip lens and eyepiece with a lens cleaner such as isopropyl alcohol and a cotton  
 

bud.

NOTE: The bore scope MUST be completely dry prior to returning it to the storage case.
