6.1 

Insert the SD memory card.

 Open the rubber flap on the   

 

right hand side of the casing and  identify the SD memory card   

 

slot as shown in fig.1. Insert the card with the terminals facing   

 

towards the front of the unit. Push the card in until it latches in   

 

place. Do not force it if  it will not insert but recheck that the   

 

orientation of the card is correct.

6.2  Charging the unit.

 Plug the charger into the mains power   

 

supply. Open the rubber flap on the right hand side of the casing  

 

and identify the charging socket as shown in fig.1. Plug the   

 

charging cable into the charging socket and switch on the mains  

 

supply. Turn the unit on by holding down the 

“Power”

 button for  

 

5 seconds. The battery charging symbol will appear for   

 

approximately 3 seconds. Leave the battery on charge for 3 to 4  

 

hours. Periodically press the 

“Esc”

 button to see the state of   

 

charge symbol. When the symbol has a solid centre bar the unit  

 

is fully charged. Unplug the charger from the mains power supply  

 

and disconnect the charger cable from the unit.

6.3  Attaching the probe.

 Plug the probe connector into the socket   

 

in the top of the unit. Rotate the locking ring so that it engages   

 

with the thread on the outside of the socket and draws the   

 

connector fully into the socket. See fig.1.

6.4  Attaching mirrors.

 To see into otherwise inaccessible areas a   

 

small mirror fitting can be screwed onto the probe tip. See fig.1.   

 

Three mirror fittings are provided giving viewing angles of 30°,   

 

45° & 60°.

7.1  Switch on unit.

 Turn the unit on by holding down the 

“Power”

   

 

button for 5 seconds. The date and time will be displayed at the   

 

top of the screen and the word “CAMERA” and the battery   

 

symbol will appear briefly towards the bottom of the screen.   

 

Whatever the probe tip is pointing at will be displayed on the   

 

screen.

7.2  Positioning the probe tip.

 Manipulate the probe tip into the   

 

area under investigation whilst viewing the display. The probe   

 

can be manoeuvred and manipulated into more complex paths   

 

but the following points should be borne in mind.

DO NOT

 bend any part of the flexible probe tighter than a 2.5   

 

inch radius (5 inch diameter).

DO NOT

 use excessive force to insert or retrieve probe from   

 

the equipment or areas under inspection.

DO NOT

 use the probe tip to push against objects or to clear a   

 

path. This instrument is for remote viewing only.

DO NOT

 insert the probe into locations where the temperature  

 

is greater than 113 deg F (45 deg C).

DO NOT

 vibrate, bang, or drop your bore scope. It is not shock   

 

resistant.

4.1.  Set Up Menu.

 Prior to operation the set up menu can be used to  

adjust the basic functions such as the 

date and time 

and

 auto   

 

power off. 

To access the main menu hold down the power   

button for 5 seconds and then press 

“OK”

. Use the left and right  

arrow keys to move through the menu options and confirm your   
choice by pressing 

“OK”

. A sub menu will appear. Follow the   

directions indicated on the schematic below to make the required  
adjustment and confirm your adjustment by pressing the 

“OK”   

button which will also take you back to the main menu. Press   

“Esc”

 to exit the main menu.

4.2.  Video functions.

 The output can be fed to an external screen   

using the supplied AV cable. Comprehensive functions are   
available via the main menu to match the output to the screen   
available. See schematic above.
