To be honest, I was slightly
concerned that the G-20 would
have the power to do justice to
this 120-size airplane, but the
first takeoff put my fears to
rest. The Decathlon lifted off in
about half of the space I had
expected it to. That brought on
another wave of anxiety -
Decathlons are notorious for
torque-rolling into the ground if
they lift off too soon. No
problem there either. The
Decathlon took to the air like it
had been waiting to get there.
Once airborne, I did the usual
"fly the box" to get her trimmed
out and after only a few minor
trim adjustments, she was
flying "hands off". Now let's
see what she can do.
