GEARING
Always start with the stock gearing. If you wish to change the gearing, you
must check your motor temperature frequently on the first run after changing
the gearing, motor or battery! Never let the motor get above 200°F. If you
can’t touch the motor for 2 seconds, it’s too hot.
If the motor gets too hot, reduce the pinion size, increase the spur size, or
reduce the pack voltage.

PROGRAMMING
The Sidewinder SCT ESC is programmable via your
transmitter, and many more programmable features
may be accessed using your Windows PC and a Castle
Link USB adapter or a Field Link card (not included.) See
the Drivers’ Ed Guide for more details on transmitter
programming and the Castle Link software for the
latest features from the Castle engineering team.

WATERPROOF
Sidewinder SCT is not intended for operation while submerged in liquid. If
unit is operated in wet conditions, rinse with fresh water to remove dirt or
corrosives, then fully dry unit.

SIDEWINDER ESC AND NEU-CASTLE 1410

3800 KV MOTOR VITAL INFORMATION

RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS:
Sidewinder SCT is recommended for all SCT 2WD and 4WD applications that
weigh less than 6.5 lbs (3kg).
Do not use this motor or controller in heavier vehicles.

BATTERY CHOICE
Max cells for an SCT application: 2s LiPo (8.4 volts) or 7 cell NiCad/NiMh. The
SCT combo is a high performance system, you must use high discharge cells!
Note: The Sidewinder SCT and 1410 3800 KV motor may be run on up to 3S

(12.6 volts) in lighter vehicles. Monitor motor, battery, and controller temps

carefully. Never let the motor get above 200°F. If you can’t touch the motor

for 2 seconds, it’s too hot.

OTHER MOTORS
If you choose to use this controller with other motors in an SCT application
the motor must have a Kv (RPMs per volt) that is the same or lower than 3800
kv, and the motor must be run within motor manufacturer’s specs. Monitor
motor, battery, and controller temps carefully.
The Sidewinder SCT can run in brushed or brushless motor modes. Please see
the manual for details on the wiring required to run in BRUSHED modes.
