Distributed Network Protocol
Overview
Some versions of the SEL-387 family of relays support Distributed Network
Protocol (DNP3) Level 2 Slave protocol. This includes access to metering
data, protection elements (Relay Word), contact I/O, targets, Sequential
Events Recorder, breaker monitor, relay summary event reports, settings
groups, and time synchronization. The SEL-387 Relay supports DNP point
remapping and virtual terminal object.
Configuration
To configure a port for DNP, set the port PROTO setting to DNP. Although
DNP can be selected on any of the available ports, DNP cannot be enabled on
more than one port at a time. The following information is required to
configure a port for DNP operation:
