4. Installation of the motion detector
Select a place for installation. Remove the protective cover and stick the bracket to the
place desired.
Congratulations and thank you for purchasing the Schwaiger
ZHS21 product. Below you will find useful operating guidelines.
This is a smart motion detector which is based on the ZigBee Wireless Networking tech-
nology. It has a very low power consumption which makes for longer battery life. The
motion detector is only suitable for indoor use. Upon choosing a place for installation
of the detector, please make sure that the device is not exposed to extreme changes in
temperature (e.g. near a radiator) and that there are no constantly moving objects (e.g.
ceiling fan) in close proximity to the motion detector.
Network inclusion
1. Remove the protective battery cover.
The red LED will then glow. The device can be used
as soon as the red LED is off.
This takes up to 30 seconds.
2. Put the Gateway into inclusion mode

Put the Gateway into inclusion mode.
Remove the protective battery cover, press the networking button for 2 seconds
until the green LED starts to flash fast.
3. Networking button
Press the networking button (within the hole) for 2
seconds until the green LED starts to flash fast, then
let go. The device will be detected and included into
the network.

6. Network removal of the device
Put the Gateway into removal mode by
choosing „Home setup“ in the main menu
and then click on „Add device“ (See images
on the left). Then reset the device to default
settings.
7. Reset to default settings
Press the networking button for 5 seconds
until the LED starts to flash slowly.
Note: For network inclusion, the sensor must
always be in the factory state.

Please pay attention to the fact that during network inclusion, the distance
between motion detector and Gateway may not exceed 0.5 m.
