Mode of operation:
The medisun Psori-comb emits UV-radiation of special wavelength with the help of a medical lamp. Because
of the compact and light handheld casing with additional comb-row the medisun Psori-comb is applicable for
treatments of scalp and small skin areas. Continuous application with correct dosage can conduct to good
results in treatment of Psoriasis, Atopic dermatosis, Vitiligo and other skin diseases. In general the treatment
begins with a low dosage. If no sunburn appears within 24 hours after exposure the next dosage can be
increased by one step because the skin will be less sensitive with incremental number of exposures.
User profile:
medisun Psori-comb is applicable for adults without age limit who are able to hold the device above
the head for several minutes.
Safety information
Immediately on delivery, inspect your unit for any shipping damage which may have occurred.
Should you find damage, please contact your dealer and provide him with the shipping
documents and / or purchase receipt.
Please read these instructions carefully prior to installing or operating your unit. Check all screws
and nuts regularly to ensure they are secure.
Make sure the unit is used in accordance with the operating instructions.
UV treatments may only be carried out under the supervision of a competent dermatologist. Prior
to the start of treatment, the dermatologist must determine the indicated UV spectrum and proper
treatment dosage for the individual series. The doctor must consider the constitution and status of
sickness of the patients.
Before the first operation and after each exposure all by the patient touchable parts of the device
must be desinfected with an applicable desinfectant (e.g. Bacillol 25, Bode Chemie).
The unit must be connected in a way that the power supply plug will be achievable at any time.
Always unplug the unit from the mains power outlet during maintenance and cleaning, as well as
when the unit is not in use.
Repairs, maintenance, safety checks and measurements may only be performed by an approved
and authorized service facility with appropiate testing equipment.
Use a moist cloth and a mild (not aggressive) household
detergent to clean the unit’s exterior
surfaces. Make sure no water enters the unit during cleaning. Do not use disinfectants or similar
agents with more than 50% alcohol portion. Use an antistatic cloth to occasionally clean the UV
lamps.
The unit may only be set up in a dry room without danger of explosions or oxygenated and must
be protected against spraying or dripping water. At a maximum permissible ambient temperature
of 27°C, the relative humidity in the room may not exceed 60%. A higher room temperature will
also result in a higher temperature under the unit.
Structural measures must ensure that no saline humidity or condensation water can enter the
irradiation area, as this would result in corrosion.
Certain objects and materials which can fade under the influence of UV light (e.g., paintings)
should not be exposed to the unit’s UV radiation for extended periods of time.
Do not drape towels or other items on the unit.
