5. Control interval, care and maintenance
5.1. Servicing
A regular servicing increases immensely the functionality, safety and the lifetime of
our systems.
The maintenance of the „
SafeTrans
“ belt pillar and restraint systems must be carried
out with the regular vehicle maintenance unless otherwise described, at the latest
after one year.
5.1.1 Restraint systems
A daily control of the restraint systems is mandatory to avoid a safety risk.
•
Control the retractor by pulling out the belt and make sure that it locks proper-
ly.
•
Control that the belt is not incised, damaged or frayed and the belt is not con-
taminated with dirt, oil or chemicals.
•
Control that the metal parts are not worn, broken or damaged.
•
Check the locking bolts for dirt, corrosion and locking function.
•
Check all fitting parts as screws, nuts etc. for stability.
•
Control the floor anchorings to ensure its cleanliness and safety.
•
Check the anchorings of the shoulder belts for correct position and function
•
Control that the lap belt and the shoulder belt is not incised, damaged, frayed
and contaminated.
•
Control that the belt buckle is not damaged and ensure the correct function.
•
Control all other parts of the security system which are not in the list of the dai-
ly control.
5.2. Care and maintenance
•
Clean the belts regularly with mild soap and water.
•
After cleaning pull the belt completely out and position it so that no water can
get into the retractor till the belt is completely dry.
•
Be careful to avoid contamination at the belt.
•
The belts must be regularly checked, cleaned and maintained.
•
Contaminated or frayed belts must be exchanged.
•
Worn and defect parts must be exchanged.
