Use as agreed upon
The device is delivered with the batteries required and ready for use. It has
passed the final control and calibration (s.a. enclosed calibration certificate).
The device is not designed to be explosion proof; therefore its application in
explosion endangered atmospheres is not permitted. Intentionally it was
abstained from an electrotechnical explosion proof design.
The reason is that with its use it has to be assessed if, should the situation
arise, igniteable brush discharges may occur which possibly bring about an
ignition of the surrounding explosion endangered atmosphere.
So, before use the surrounding area has to be monitored whether an
explosion endangered atmosphere is present. This may be carried out with a
customary device for monitoring flammable gas concentrations. It is
recommended that 20 % of the lower explosion limit should not be exceeded -
also for health reasons.
