5.5. Real-Time RF Environnment Test
5.5.1. RF Environment Test Description
The RF Environment Test uses CDR Wireless hardware and software to measure the RF
noise in the operatory where the system is installed. At certain levels, RF noise from
other items in the environment — wireless or microwave devices for example — may
affect the performance of the wireless system. By determining the extent of RF noise, the
Environment Test can recommend which channels provide the best opportunities for
communication, and so minimize the effects of interference from potential problem
sources.
Viewing, saving, and analyzing the results of the RF Environment Test are all performed
at the same screen, a sample of which is provided in Figure 4. More information about
each of the areas shown can be found in the paragraphs that follow.
