REMAINING HAZARDS
The machine has been built using modern technology
in accordance with recognized safety rules. Some re
-
maining hazards, however, may still exist.
•
The splitting tool can cause injuries to fingers and
hands if the wood is incorrectly guided or supported.
•
Thrown pieces can lead to injury if the work piece is
not correctly placed or held.
•
Injury through electric current if incorrect electric
connection leads are used.
•
Danger due to particular properties of the log
(branches, irregular shape etc)
Even when all safety measures are taken, some re
-
maining hazards which are not yet evident may still
be present.
Remaining hazards can be minimized by following
the safety instructions as well as the instructions in
the chapter Authorized use and in the entire operat
-
ing manual.

* The maximum achievable splitting power depends
on the resistance of the material to be split and can,
due to influencing variable, deflect to the hydraulic
system.
7. Assembly
For reasons of packing, your log splitter is not com
-
pletely assembled.
Mount axle Fig.
3
Place axle on the splitter and attach with 2 U-bolts
and 4 nuts.
Assemble the wheels Fig. 4
Place 1 washer, 1 wheel, 1 washer on both sides of
the axle and secure it with a cotter pin.
Attaching the operating handles Fig. 5
For packaging reasons, you have to attach the left
and the right operating handle yourself. You can use
the already attached operating handle and Figure 5
as an example.
Attaching the supporting arm, Fig. 6
Secure the supporting arm with a hexagon bolt
M10x40, two washers and a nut.
Attaching the hook, Fig. 7
Attach the hook on the frame with 2 hexagon bolts
and 2 nuts.
Attaching the log lifter Fig. 8, 9
Attach the log lifter on the fixing bracket with 1 hexa
-
gon bolt M16x100.
Hook the chain onto the splitting blade.
Putting the splitter into the work position Fig. 12
Connect the splitter to the mains supply.
Pay attention to the direction of rotation of the motor.
Lower both control handles until the cylinder engages
with the guide.
Insert the two L-pins to secure the cylinder on the kin
-
dling splitter. Secure the L-pins in the spring tabs. Then
bring the splitting blade to the top position and remove
the support.
You must store the support safely because it is
needed every time the splitter is transported.
Mount transport handle Fig. 10, 11
Fix the transport handle with the hexagon screw
M10, the washer and safety nut to the bracket.
Safe the transport handle with the plug pin and
feather plug in store-/transportposition.
8.Starting the equipment
When working at temperatures less than 5°C, the ma
-
chine should be operated ca. 15 minutes without a
load, so the hydraulic oil can warm up.
Make sure the machine is completely and expertly as
-
sembled. Check before every use:
• The connection cables for any defective spots
(cracks, cuts etc.).
• The machine for any possible damage.
• The firm seat of all bolts.
• The hydraulic system for leakage.
• The oil level.
•
that the guides on the splitting column are lubri
-
cated with grease.
Venting, Fig. 13
Before working with the log splitter, vent the hydraulic
system.
