Intended use
The heating element is made of titanium and is intended to heat water in aquariums and
terrariums.
The heating element is available in the variants PTC 100 W, PTC 200 W, PTC 300 W and
PTC 600 W. Each variant may be designed for a mains voltage of 230 V or 120 V, depend
-
ing on the delivery location. The type of cable depends on the mains voltage.
The heating element must be operated with a residual-current device with maximum
30 mA.
The connectors of the heating element must be indoors.
The heating element must always be completely surrounded by water during operation.
The heating element is intended only for use within the technical limits (“Technical data”
on page 10), which vary depending on the variant.

The heating element variant is printed on the heating element (Fig. 2).
WARNING:
The heating element is operated with electric power and generates high operating
temperatures that can cause burns and material damage in the event of contact.
- Before any work, disconnect the heating element from the mains supply. To do
so, pull the mains plug (Fig. 1/5) from the socket and allow the heating element
to cool down before reaching into the aquarium or terrarium.
- Allow the heating element to cool down to ambient temperature and dry before
touching it.
- Grasp the heating element only by the cap (Fig. 1/1).
- Do not leave the heating element unsupervised if there are children or persons
nearby who are unable to assess the risks.
- This device can be used by children who are at least eight years old and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or a lack of experience and
knowledge if they are supervised or instructed in how to use the device safely
and understand the resulting dangers.
