Detecting
Perform calibration. Hold the test button down
and move the detector slowly along the wall in a
straight horizontal line.
When the detector reaches the edge of an object,
the function indicator will light and an audible
signal will be emitted. Place a pencil in the centre
slot and mark the spot on the wall. Continue
moving the detector until the indicator goes out
and the audible signal stops.
Continue to hold the test button and move the
detector in the opposite direction. When the
detector reaches the edge of an object, the
function indicator will light and an audible signal
will be emitted. Place a pencil in the centre slot
and mark the spot on the wall.
Repeat if necessary from each direction to check
accuracy. Finding the centre of the object will now
be simple by measuring the distance between the
marks on the wall.
If you release the test button during scanning, you
will have to re-start the procedure.
Note! The detector cannot register power cables if
they have a metal sheath, run through metal pipes
or walls, or are embedded in very thick solid walls.
Tip:
Calibrate the detector at a place on the wall where
there are no studs, metal objects or power cables.
Keep your free hand at least 15 cm away from the
detector to avoid interference.
Do not use in the vicinity of high voltage electrical
currents, at temperatures over 40° C or in wet or
humid surroundings.
If the wall to be scanned is composed of many
different materials or has a metal foil cladding, the
detector may not work.
Please note that the detector cannot register
shielded cables, non-conductive cables, network
cables, antenna cables, telephone cables or the
like. Always take care when drilling walls that may
contain these types of cables!
The detector is not suitable for use on metal walls.
Moisture measurement
Set the function selector to MOISTURE and
remove the cover (7).
Press and hold the test button. All the moisture
indicators (6) will light for a moment.
Apply the test probes to the palm of your hand
and press the test button. One of the moisture
indicators will light.
Remove the probes from your hand and press the
test button. The moisture indicators will go out. If
the detector acts as described above, it is ready for
use.
Apply the test probes to the wood to be measured
and press the test button. The moisture content of
the wood can be seen on a scale from 8 to 22% on
the moisture indicators. If the 22% light is on, it
means the moisture content is 22% or greater.
Cleaning
Wipe with a damp cloth. A small amount of
detergent can be applied to the cloth. Do not
allow any form of liquid to penetrate the detector!
Never use corrosive or abrasive detergents, as they
may attack plastic parts.
Environmental information
You can help protect the environment!
Follow local environmental regulations:
Dispose of unwanted electrical
equipment at an approved refuse
disposal centre.
Take out the batteries before scrapping
the product.
