SAFETY
The lifting magnet was designed for safe operation.
A hazard for operating personnel can be fully excluded or reduced to a minimum during the entire life cycle of
the lifting magnet if the product is used by authorised and sufficiently trained personnel in accordance with these
operating instructions.
NOTE!
All persons involved in operation, maintenance and service of the lifting
magnets must be appropriately qualified and observe the operating in-
structions in all details. The operating instructions comprise all information
required for safe and optimum use of the magnets. This concerns not only
the functional reliability of the lifting magnets chucks, but also your personal
safety.
Do not remove any signs/labels, warning symbols and instructions from the
lifting magnets!
Workstation
NOTE!
The operator’s workstation is located at a machine tool or somewhere on the
workshop floor, for example. The magnet with its load is in the direct vicinity
of the operator.
The operator has to maintain a sufficient distance to the load during lifting
and transport.
2.1
Intended use
The intended use of the battery-powered lifting magnet is the lifting and transport of loads (ferromagnetic flat and
round materials) horizontally (horizontal load position) up to the specified rated capacity (see section 3 “Technical
specifications”) using an operator-controlled lifting system.
The purpose of the lifting magnet is to handle/transport a load (metallurgic material, workpiece, etc.) by applying
magnetic attractive forces (magnetic circuit between the lifting magnet and the load).
The battery-powered lifting magnet is supplied with power by a 12 V DC battery.
The magnetic force is generated by an electric current on the coil on the steel core.
During charging of the battery (socket on the front panel, 230 V DC), the lifting magnet is not in operation.
The lifting magnet is equipped with a lifting eye which is intended for directly attaching to the crane hook and, if
necessary, for use with optional accessories.
Attach the lifting magnet only to the lifting eye!
Use of accessories is always described in the operating instructions for the respective accessories.
The technical specifications and ambient conditions must always be observed (see section 3 “Technical specifica-
tions”).
Lifting and transporting persons is prohibited!
It is not permitted to make subsequent changes or adaptations to the supplied lifting magnet without written approv-
al from the manufacturer!
Any use or configuration of the product other than the intended use are not permitted.
